A Dream
Come True!

Hi, this is Pastor James Berkley, the Sr. Minister of  Judah Praise Center in Marysville, WA. In 1997 I was launched by the Lord into the nations. After ministering in several nations, the Lord began to show me the wisdom of multiplying my efforts by raising up an apostolic base church with a strong school of ministry in order to train and send an army of young people into the nations!

I am excited to announce the launching of Judah School of Ministry! This will actually be our second school of ministry. Our first was launched in 1996 at Eagle’s Nest Ministries in Spokane, WA; under the apostolic direction of Timothy Sherman. Kathy and I served as pastors at Eagle’s Nest while Ron Moreland served as Dean of Students of our school. Together, we graduated many who are now in full time ministry! Hallelujah! After finishing a degree in education, Ron Moreland is returning to us to serve as the Dean of Students and to oversee the launching
of the Judah School of Ministry. It has been our desire for over 10 years now to do this, and finally the time has come!

The actual launch date was January 12, 2009.  Classes are conducted on Tuesdays and Thursdays 6:00 to 9:30 PM.   Full time students will register for up to four classes.  We will be on a trimester system, that is, there are three, 10 week trimesters per year.

Our Mission:
The mission of Judah School of Ministry is to equip an army of radical disciples who will take the powerful Gospel of the Kingdom into every aspect of society, every ethnic group, and to every walk of life and to make disciples of every nation!

Description of the School:
JSOM is a part time, two year school of ministry offering an Associates degrees in Christian Ministry. In addition to the regularly scheduled classes, weekend seminars and conferences will be offered for class credit.

A four year Bachelor's program is in the planning stages at this time. More to be announced.

Accreditation:
While Judah School of Ministry does not philosophically oppose accreditation, a strong consensus is emerging among institutions like ours that traditional academic accreditation is more of a hindrance than a help in accomplishing the purposes for which God has called us into being.

JSOM is pursuing accreditation with ACEA International, Inc. ACEA stands for Apostolic Council for Educational Accountability. ACEA provides a "way that apostolic training institutions can receive the desired ongoing peer-level evaluation and mutual accountability while maintaining the integrity of their individual callings from God" (Letter from ACEA titled The Apostolic Council for Educational Accountability Prospectus). We are excited to see what God is going to do with this new relationship.

Our philosophy:
Our philosophy is that Christ be formed in each student and that each one is equipped to do the works of Jesus Christ in the power of the Holy Spirit and the knowledge of the Word! We do this through anointed teaching, prophetic activation, and apostolic impartation! The Word of God, the Holy Spirit, and the Five Fold Ministry cause Christ to be formed in every sincere student!
We are committed to both academic excellence as well as on the job training, with hands-on discipleship. Mission trips and other ministry opportunities will be made available to our students.

Since Jesus came to serve and not be served, service is one of the highest values in the Kingdom of God; therefore, every student will be required to serve in at least one volunteer capacity in their local church. The pastor you are answerable to will be asked to submit your service evaluation and grade.

Our desire at JSOM:
  • Develop a lifestyle of fulfilling the great commandment and great commission!
  • Equip and prepare those who are called for a life-time of service to the King!
  • Gain a victorious world view of an overcoming future with Jesus Christ!
  • Learn to emulate God’s awesome generals and heroes of the faith!
  • Learn strategies for taking cities, regions, and nations for Christ!
  • Learn effective evangelism, discipleship, and church planting!
  • Identify and activate spiritual gifts, ministries, and callings!
  • Gain an understanding of Biblical and Church history!
  • Prepare for engagement, marriage, and parenting!
  • Establish a life-style of worship and devotion!
  • Go on a mission trip to another Nation!
  • Participate in kingdom job placement!
